Latest update from Jim on his plans:
27 April 2008
Hi All,
Next stop on the tour, if you choose to come, is Corning, New York.
I have made reservations at Camp Bell Campground, Campbell, New York arriving July 7 departing July 14. 800-587-3301.
It is a Pass Port America park with a rate of $10 plus A/C, cable , etc. 30 amps, no sewer, but they have a honey wagon
for $8 a visit. You need to call soon, as there are some sites available close to me.
Attractions here are the Corning Glass Museum, National Soaring Museum in
Elmira, Market Street Shopping District in Corning and lots of other stuff close by.
I am looking for a campground near Ithaca for the next stop. I hope
I can find one close enough to Watkins Glen to go to the Wine Festival July 18-20.

From Jim regarding his planned moves:
Hi All,
I am thinking that we may want to spend two weeks at Camp Bell Campground. We are
close to almost everything in the southern Finger Lakes area from this campground. Hammondsport: Curtiss Museum,
Curtiss Mansion, lots of wine places
Horseheads: National Warplane Museum
Watkins Glen: Race Track, nice state park.
I was hopping to stay at Watkins Glen State Park, but ReserveAmerica says the campsite are only 30 ft. Trailer
Life Guide says 60 ft., so I will call tomorrow.

21 March 2008
Hi All,
I am getting excited about our Summer Trip to the Finger Lakes Region of New York.
We are planning to start at Rhinebeck, New York and visit the Rhinebeck Aerodrome and Museum along with Hyde Park and a Vanderbilt
Mansion on the Hudson River. The Aerodrome has air shows on Saturday and Sunday. I am also planning on taking an
airplane ride in a 1929 New Standard four seater open cockpit biplane for $65. per person.
Here are some details.
I have made reservations for July 2-6 at Brook N Wood Family Campground in Elizaville, NY, 518-537-6896,
rates are $54/night for full hookup 50 amps, 30 amps a little cheaper. They have five 50 amps sites available close
by and some 30 amp sites not so close. If you want to come, make your reservations ASAP. This is a Passport America
park, so you get a discount except for the three day weekend of Thursday-Saturday which cost $162, the other two days
cost $50 for a total of $212 for all five days.
I am still working on where and when to go for the rest of the July and August. But I am planning
to visit:
1. Rochester---Eastman Kodak Mansion, Mendo Pond County Park, Amazing Maize
2. Canandaigua---Somenberg Mansion and gardens, Main St shopping
3. Seneca Fall---Seneca Museum of Waterways and Industry 4. Ithaca---Cornell Plantations Public
Garden, shop the Commons, Carl Sagan Planet Walk
5. Watkins Glen---Windmill Farmers Market, Amish and Mennonite stuff
6. Hammondsport---Curtiss Museum, Curtiss Mansion, Pleasant Valley Wine Co.
7. Corning---Corning Museum of Glass, Market Street shopping
8.. Horseheads---National Warplane Museum
9. Elmira---National Soaring Museum
We plan to attend the Watkins Glen Wine Festival, July 18-20 and maybe the Watkins Glen NASCAR Nextell
Cup Road Race, August 9-12. We will camp in the Watkins Glen area for one or two weeks, probably two different campground.
I am sending this before plans are firm because if anyone wants to go to Rhinebeck Aerodrome, they need
to make reservations now.
This is a Come Around at Rhinebeck.
